Breath is the outward manifestation of prana or vital life force energy. Through specific yogic breathing exercises known as pranayama we can start to exercise control over the subtle energies within our bodies and ultimately gain full control over our mind and enter into deep meditation. This workshop is for those who have taken the Introductory Workshop to Yogic Breathing, those with prior knowledge of basic yogic breathing and/or intermediate practitioners of yoga seeking to deepen their practice. We will speak about Prana itself in relation to our everyday life as well as learn in depth the practice and significance of analoma viloma and kapalaphati.

Learn 8 Basic Steps to come up safely into a headstand. Understand the physical, psychological, and psychic benefits of this asana (yogic posture). Gain confidence and concentration and pick up tips to hold headstand longer and with more comfort. We will start with warm up exercises for the whole body with specific attention to head and neck and then go upside down! Suitable for absolute beginners and even for those who don't think they will ever be able to do it! *Not recommended for those with glaucoma, heart problems, cervical spine injuries, or severe arthritis in the neck.

Sound Healing and Yoga Nidra

Lacey Firefly welcomes Kristen Rubis offering sound healing with singing bowls combined with Yoga Nidra meditation by Eric Quinn. Together sound healing and yoga nidra can deepen meditation offering a break from stress, re-energizing our heart, mind and body. As tension melts we come to relaxed awareness that allows us to find what we need for healing and self care.

Class begins with breath work and meditation accompanied with wind chimes and then moves into restorative yoga to release the day’s tension and prepare for meditation. During the meditation you just breathe and listen. Then to integrate and relax even deeper we end with a Sound Healing Bath. We suggest bringing an extra mat or pad for comfort during meditation and water for after class.

Join Kristen and Eric for an afternoon of renewal and relaxation.

The stretches and postures in this Prenatal Yoga class emphasize alignment and encourage optimal fetal positioning for a smoother pregnancy and birth.  We will work on building strength and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth, and practice meditation and breath techniques to connect deeper with your baby and prepare for labor.  Any stage of pregnancy welcome!
